Frequent questions

The questions below have actually been put to us, by email or in meetings. The answers are short on purpose: each points to the page that goes into detail.

How long does it take to build a website?
A few weeks for a presentation site whose texts exist, longer when content has to be written or a second language is added. The timetable is in the quote, stage by stage, and providing the content is most often what makes the difference. The trade, step by step
How much does a website cost?
The house publishes two floors: creation and yearly upkeep. No site is billed for less, and the firm quote, once signed, does not move. The pricing page gives the amounts, examples, and the answers to the other money questions. The pricing page
Who owns my site’s domain name?
You, and that is not negotiable: it is one of the house rules. The domain and the hosting are registered in your name, with providers you pay directly. The day you leave, you leave with everything. The house rules
Can I edit my site myself?
Yes, when it is planned at design time: an editing space lets you change texts and images without breaking anything, and that is how the committee of our first client works, updating its own pages. Say so from the start: it is built in, it does not retrofit well. Design your site
What happens if I want to leave?
Leaving costs nothing. The site, the domain and the hosting are yours; maintenance stops at the due date, and a handover file goes to whoever you choose. A house that keeps clients through technical lock-in does not deserve to keep them. The house rules
My current site is abandoned: can it be recovered?
Almost always, and it starts with an assessment, not a quote. What is public can be copied, what is in your name can be transferred, what is missing can be rebuilt. The dedicated page describes the four stages of a takeover. Taking over an existing site
Do I need a cookie banner in Switzerland?
Not always: it depends on what the site actually sets and who it targets. Many Swiss sites display a banner they do not need, and the opposite exists too. The regulation file answers by case, official texts in support. The regulation file
Will I be found on Google?
Nobody can guarantee it, and anyone promising it should raise suspicion: it is written in Google’s own documentation. What can be guaranteed is the work that makes it possible: a reachable, declared, well-linked site, measured in Search Console. The journal explains the whole mechanism, in order.
